Free personal finance site to try

For many of use keeping track of our spending , savings and other bills etc is a jumbled mess. We have to go to this site check that piece of mail try to remember if we paid something and checking our balances. Basically running back and forth between many different sites, phone calls, and regular mail.

The program I am writing about is from the makers of quicken but is free you access it from a website. The site is called Team Mint and has won many awards for the services it offers which you can see by clicking here.

This site helps people to understand how their savings, checking, investments, and bills are doing all on one site. Of course you first must take the time to set up your account and link it to other accounts. You can create multiple goal trackers for vacations, plan on big purchases, there are links to help find discounts on insurance and other helpful tips. You get summery emails on how you are progressing on your goals and tips on how to lower fees and interest on credit cards and other payments even track your student loans which some of use have multiples on. This can help a novice set up realistic budget dont like, want or are embarrassed to look for professional help, or do not want to pay for services.

The news is full of information about security breaches on bank and other Internet sites. Team Mint claims that it uses bank-level data security verified by Verisign and TrustE. Making the account holder anonymous on the site as you do not share your name, address, social security number or account numbers. As this is link only to track finances not directly pay bills etc you can save money but are unable to transfer money. This makes it great for students in college with loans etc just learning how to handle their finances. Check books just do not cover the complexities we have today. Set up email and SMS alerts and you’ll be automatically updated whenever there’s an important change in your finances.

I admit I use it but not much of its features it just provides me a look at my stuff in one place. Now my significant other he uses all the features tracking his 401 k investments, and many other features. For a free program its great with all the features. If you are looking for some personal finance software I recommend trying this besides the time to set it up its free so if you do not like it simply delete the account. But hey if it helps you that's awesome let me know if you decide to try it how it worked out for you.
